Position Purpose/Summary
Under the general direction of the Branch Manager, the Service Technician operates a company service truck to travel to designated locations to service, pump, clean, and maintain portable restrooms, holding tanks, and related equipment. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality service, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Shift/Hours
Monday through Friday; weekends as needed based on business demands.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and immediately report any deficiencies to the shop.
- Report improper vehicle operation, faulty equipment, or unusual conditions to the Operations Supervisor/Manager.
- Safely operate service trucks along assigned routes and travel to scheduled job sites.
- Maintain communication with dispatch via phone or radio to receive route updates, service changes, or additional instructions.
- Service portable restrooms, holding tanks, sinks, showers, and related units in accordance with company service standards.
- Restock supplies including paper products, soap, and hand sanitizer in all serviced units.
- Clean and sanitize interior and exterior surfaces of units and replenish chemical solutions as required.
- Provide timely updates to supervisors regarding project status, delays, or customer requests.
- Accurately complete required logs, service documentation, and regulatory paperwork in compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Immediately report all work-related injuries, accidents, or incidents to management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.

- High School diploma or GED required; equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative.

- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Basic computer proficiency, including use of routing systems and tablets.
Skills
- Language skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one conversation to customers, and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical skills:
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency, measurement, weight, and distance.
- Reasoning ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid Non-Commercial California Class C Driver’s License and vehicle insurance at no less than California State minimum required limits of liability.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions (in some cases extreme heat/cold), moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This position requires employees to travel regularly to off-site work locations and as such use of a vehicle will be provided.

The employee will be required to wear all safety equipment (PPE) and comply with all health and safety policies and programs enforced by the Company.
Pay Range
$23.00 – $29.00 per hour, based on experience and performance metrics.
